General Resolution Effects Edit

The lower the resolution is set to the faster the ingame music will play. It is unknown if this has any major effect on the game itself.

Formula Edit

this._maxResScale = 1 + Mathf.Max(0, DateTime.Now.Year - 1996);

Changing your time to 1996 or lower locks the resolution to the lowest.

Other effects Edit

If the game is set to various older dates i.e. 13/01/1995 the game will be stuck in the smallest resolution, It is theorized that it will run in a smaller resolution if the computer time is set to 1996 or earlier, as "this._maxResScale = 1 + Mathf.Max(0, DateTime.Now.Year - 1996);" is part of the code in Assembly-CSharp.dll.

THEORY: If the game is set to Sonic game relase dates the resolution does change, some release dates are;

Sonic 1 - US/EU/AUS: June 23, 1991 JP: July 26, 1991


Sonic 2 - US/EU/AUS: November 24, 1992 JP: November 21, 1992


Sonic 3 - February 2, 1994 Sonic & Knuckles - October 18, 1994


Sonic R - US: November 18, 1997 JP: December 4, 1997 EU/AUS: December 11, 1997

Sonic CD - JP: September 23, 1993 EU October 1993 NA November 19, 1993


Sonic Adventure - JP: December 23, 1998 NA: September 9, 1999 EU: October 14, 1999 AUS: December 1, 1999
