Chao Garden was a website which tracked rankings of original characters who have completed Eggman Origin. Once an original character ascends from Eggman Origin by feeding itself to the Egg Baby, it is reborn as an Angel under a user-specified name, with future ascensions under that name adding to its ascension count. Further ascensions also allow for the randomized unlocking of traits, and for the changing of an Angel's given type, both cosmetic features.
The website served as a theoretical finish line for the Sonic Dreams Collection experience, providing an element of replayability through a sort-of online "score table". It also offered another form of community interaction, with the ability to share Chao Garden entries through Twitter (defaulting to the message "It's a miracle!"). Additionally, the website ran an old-school internet guestbook where players could directly share their experiences with the game.[1] Unfortunately, Chao Garden went offline sometime in late 2016,[2] and has not returned online since.
